Hello people of the world. Wanted to share some thoughts from a great sunrise shoot from not too long ago.
I had the pleasure to shoot with a great model on Haulover Beach recently. We were doing some swimwear photography to add to both of our portfolios. I love shooting at Haulover since it’s one of the least crowded beaches in Miami. We planned to meet at sunrise to take advantage of the great light at that time.
Sunrise at this time of year in Miami is at 6:30AM. I got there a little earlier, so I could snap some shots of the sun peeking up on the horizon. If you haven’t caught a sunrise recently, I suggest you try it out soon. Was very nice to see the world waking up. The ocean water is so calm, the colors in the sky so rich and the smell of morning is very pleasant.
And as far as photography is concerned, sunrise lighting may be the best. Soft, rich light that perfectly shapes around the body of your subject, creating dreamy tones and amazing depth to your image. I don’t consider myself a morning person, but it is truly worth it to make it to the beach early enough for that moment.
